How Often Must my Reports be Verified?
In general, the more complex your facility, the more often you must verify:
Verification Schedule: All facilities must verify on either an annual or triennial schedule:
Annual schedule: The following must verify their reports annually:
- Retail Providers, marketers, and operators of petroleum refineries and hydrogen plants
- Operators of general stationary combustion facilities in the oil and gas sector
- Electricity generators and cogeneration facilities with a nameplate capacity at or above 10MW
Triennial Schedule: The following must obtain a verification of data submitted in 2010, and then every third year thereafter. (E.g. 2013’s data, then 2016’s data, etc.)
- Cement Plants, unless the Plant undergoes a change significant enough to require a change in the plant’s AQMD or EPA permit, in which case the Operator must verify the first full year of data following the change in the permit
- Electricity generating and cogeneration facilities combusting pure biomass, or geothermal
- Operators of electricity generation or cogeneration facilities with a nameplate capacity below 10MW
- Operators of stationary combustion facilities, except oil and gas sector facilities
